Di Indonesia, pendidikan kewirausahaan di pondok pesantren semakin menonjol karena peran penting pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang tidak hanya mengajarkan agama, tetapi juga mempersiapkan santri menjadi alumni yang mandiri dan berkontribusi secara positif dalam masyarakat. Namun peran penting tersebut tidak akan berhasil jika konsep pendidikannya tidak tepat, minimnya sumber daya yang disiapkan, apalagi dengan implementasi yang asal-asalan. Konsep pendidikan kewirausahaan di Pondok Pesantren melibatkan pengintegrasian nilai-nilai agama dan keterampilan kewirausahaan dalam kurikulum. Selain itu, pembekalan ilmu agama khas pesantren dan karakter islami juga menjadi bagian integral dari program ini. Implementasi program dilakukan melalui integrasi kurikulum, penyiapan sumber daya, pembelajaran integratif, pelibatan santri secara maksimal, pembentukan kelompok usaha, pendampingan, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, kontes kewirausahaan, kolaborasi dunia usaha, serta monitoring dan evaluasi yang berkelanjutan.
